AJN senior editor James Stubenrauch interviews Suzy
Lockwood-Rayermann, PhD, MSN, RN, lead author of “Women’s Awareness
of Ovarian Cancer Risks and Symptoms,” original research that
appears in the September issue. Lockwood-Rayermann and colleagues
analyzed data from an online survey and found that women ages 40
and older had little awareness of the symptoms and risk factors
associated with ovarian cancer. In this interview,
Lockwood-Rayermann details her findings and discusses nurses’ role
in educating patients on ovarian cancer symptoms and risk
factors.
